Every needs to visit Craft Hope for Haiti!
If you haven't already heard of it, definitely go check it out! It's quite amazing how fast it's grown! They have raised over $20k in the last week through selling donated craft items made by various people all over the place. It's been amazing seeing everything sell like crazy and I know the people running it are completely overwhelmed.
Read their amazing success at Craft Hope.

A couple of weeks ago, probably a day or two after New Years my boyfriend, sister, dad & I went to Auntie Em's Kitchen for lunch & cupcakes! Sadly my mom was in Vegas, so she didn't get to join us, but she's not one for sweets so I guess it's ok. Let me just say that little place is amazing! I had an egg salad sandwich (I'm very picky about the egg to mayo ratio) and it was THE BEST. Not to mention quite large. Then we had CUPCAKES. Of course we had to try their Red Velvet. Now, I've always been a Sprinkles gal and while I still love them, I think Auntie Em's got them beat! These cupcakes were SO good and SO moist and they weren't so rich that it kind of made you sick afterward, like what happens to me with Sprinkles.
They were SO yum yum yum!

...definitely NOT on my to-do list! I started feeling like I was getting sick on Wednesday and sure enough here I am... sick. Of course this happens the week school starts and the week my boss tells me I'm going to have more hours at work! I got through the week without calling in sick to work or school, though so I can't say it's been too horrible.
I watched Sunshine Cleaning this week, before I got sick. I actually quite liked it! If you have Netflix, you can watch it online - do it! :) I've been on an Amy Adams kick lately and also watched Julie & Julia. Pretty good as well!
I had all these great plans to craft this weekend in between getting homework done. Now, I believe I'll be pet/house sitting for a friend's family. I love their pups, so it's ok. Maybe I'll just focus on homework this weekend and maybe see what easy/portable crafts I can stash in my overnight bag. Then again, they're less than 10 miles from my house so I guess I could just come home and craft for a few hours. We'll see how it works out! Maybe I'll just veg the whole time, napping away my cold & watching movies all weekend. That sounds delightful!
Ta-ta for now!

... did I put the correct number of na's? Ok well... most of these are more like "if I was a rich girl... and had a house to fill with these amazing goodies."
Divided plates. I would have so much fun cooking different things to put in each little section! (here)
A dime bank for my (in the distant) future children! Because I know I'll have to bribe them, but I'm cheap so I'll bribe them with dimes! (here)
Self explanatory. Nom. I need like 5 of these. (here)
Oh my. I need these adorable little guys all over my future home. For little bundles of flowers from my future garden to holding my pencils and beloved sharpies! (here)
This little wall hung house would be SO fun to decorate according to the season/holiday/etc. (here)
And for my love. This print of his dream car. When we get a house, I plan to sneak this into the garage to hang up as a surprise! But shh! (here)

Neglecting this blog is much easier with no readers ;) Finals and Christmas and Work and just craziness all together has kept me from doing much for-fun crafting! Not to mention my lovely parental unit is kicking me out of their formal dining room which I definitely took over for the last 3 months or so.
For now, I'll just dream of my future craft room and try to figure out how to fit my crafty personality into my tiny bedroom/office/studyroom/now craft room.
I have no idea what style I'll be going for yet, if I ever get one. All I know is, I need one.

The day before Thanksgiving, we stopped by Fishy Finds. I don't know how to describe this place. Not just vintage, not just antiques, but also lots of modern items. It's amazing, though. You really have to dig through. We scored a ton of vintage 50's and 70's clothing. Will post pictures of our lovely stash later. All of it needs to be cleaned and there are a few items that need some mending. I'll have to find time to do that.
You'd think working part time would give me tons of free time. But I've been scrambling to get together items for 2 swaps, fulfill some orders for some small pet cage items as well as catch up on my school work and real estate licence class. AHH! Could I just freeze time for a tiny bit? A few hours? I'd love a good 4 extra hours today. Can someone arrange that for me? Thanks a billion!

The title? Not sure. It's my favorite Mary Poppins song and it somehow weasels it's way into my mind a couple of times a month.
Today. Wind. Why? Today has been quite a gusty day. You know, the one day I decide to wear a little mascara out into the world. Of COURSE it's windy and debris piles into my eyeballs. Of course.
This past weekend I picked up some brilliant books at a yard sale. One is a book ALL about needle work. It's so informative, I'm sure I'll be cracking it open constantly. The 2nd is my favorite, though. It's a compltely 70's styled "Things to Make for Children" book. 167 things, to be exact. My favorite favorite part is the photos. I love the 70's prints and little 70's children in their little 70's attire. SO cute.
Look at all the crazy 70's wallpaper & carpet! Glorious!
Who says you can only have a blue & yellow gender neutral room for your kiddos? I will opt for rainbows if/when I have little Aileen-pup's.
Flower Child? Oops.. wrong decade!
I don't know why, but when I saw this ladder-tent idea, I was so impressed. It's such a simple and genius idea all at the same time!
Now how many of you can claim to have a book with instructions on creating a Miniature Gold Course? That's what I thought!
And then there's the adorable 70's child models!
This girl is my absolute favorite. Please let any little girl spawn of mine look exactly like this chic little girl. She definitely would not have gotten it from me or the boyfriend... hm...
I hope the 70's flashback (or.. not if you're a youngin' like me!) was well enjoyed. I was giddy the whole time I was flipping through that little treasure. $1 well spent!
Today while I watched a movie made after some Nicholas Sparks book that I can't recall, I clipped away at some felt scraps. Here's some of a current piece I'm working on. If you can guess what it is, you deserve a cyber high-five! Contact me to redeem that!
Good night! And maybe watch Mary Poppins, it always puts me in an oddly happy mood!
...Aileen...
